The V2V team in Omaha recently stepped out of the office and into the doors of Food Bank for the Heartland for a volunteer outing. Food Bank for the Heartland is a nonprofit organization that addresses food insecurity in Nebraska and western Iowa. It serves children, families, seniors, and veterans struggling to access enough nutritious food, by providing assistance through food pantries, meal programs, and community partnerships across 93 counties.
Throughout the morning, V2V had the amazing opportunity to feed those in need, by packing and sealing 1,854 bags of elbow noodles over the course of 3-1/2 hours, which will go into the Food Bank’s mobile pantry and help feed 927 families in need.
Volunteer days have been a tradition at V2V since our founding in 2008 and this marked the Omaha team’s 4th consecutive year volunteering at Food Bank for the Heartland. Last year, the team helped the Food Bank fill backpacks with breakfast and lunches for the weekend when many children may not have the resources to eat otherwise.
We value giving back to our community and supporting organizations dedicated to making a difference in people’s lives. A heartfelt thank you to Food Bank for the Heartland for this meaningful volunteer opportunity. Together, we bring hope and nourishment to those in need, and we couldn’t be more grateful to be part of this important mission!
